The Pastel Narwhal

30 Day Book Challenge: Day 6

A book that makes you sad

To be honest, the only reason I read this book was because Emma Watson mentioned it on Twitter. I am super lame, I know. I read the reviews on it and everyone was all like “OMG it’s soooooo sad! I cried like a billion times!!!!!!!!11!!!!” and I was all like “lol ppl r dum!”. So I went out and bought the book. I started reading it and my initial reaction was “This book is soooo lame… why can’t I stop reading it?”. Then I got 3/4 of the way through and my reaction was like “BOOHOO I AM A SAD PANDA!”. Ya. That’s right. I was one of those people who cried like a billion times. This book is fucking sad.

30 Day Book Challenge: Day 5

A book that makes you happy

The true story of two male penguins who fall in love and raise a little baby penguin from an egg? How can this story NOT make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside?! I read this to my three year old son on the regular!

30 Day Book Challenge: Day 4

Favorite book of your favorite series

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince is DEFINITELY my favorite of all seven. So much development! And we learn all about Voldemort’s past and about the horcruxes. It really is the most interesting book out of the whole series.

30 Day Book Challenge: Day 3

Your favorite series

I know this answer is sooooo0o0o0o cliche but OMG I LOVE HARRY POTTER SO MUCH!! I got the first two books for Christmas when I was ten years old and just fell in love. Where I lived, Harry Potter wasn’t big yet so all the kids in my class made fun of me for reading a book with such a “stupid” title. Joke was on them when the following year HP was all they could talk about!

30 Day Book Challenge: Day Two

A book that you’ve read more than 3 times.

I. Love. This. Graphic. Novel. Possibly more than life. But seriously, this is one of my favorite books of all time. Top 5. And the movie is just as good, which, I mean, how often does that happen?!

30 Day Book Challenge: Day One

The best book you’ve read this year.

Seriously dude, don’t touch it!

Ok, so I didn’t think it could get any better (or hilariously darker) after John Dies at the End… I was definitely wrong! This is hands down the best book I have read this year (so far!). Just like its predecessor it perfectly combines the comedic with the terrifying in a way that makes you question EVERYTHING, including your own existence.

10/10 would read again
